- The Board of Directors of the Virginia College Fund
and the students, staffs and faculties of its independent
member colleges and universities welcome you to its 2009-2010 website. The Virginia College
Fund, established in
1965, provides a convenient way for the
corporate, foundation and private citizen to demonstrate a
continuing commitment to the maintenance of a
strong educational system in Virginia and to
encourage and pursue growth in academic
excellence. You are invited to join us in this
worthy pursuit. You will be glad you did!

Funding
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit Virginia corporation, all gifts to the
Fund are deductible for federal and state tax purposes.
Of the funds collected, 75 percent are divided equally
among the participating member institutions and 25
percent are apportioned according to full-time
undergraduate enrollment. An independent, certified audit, available
upon request, is prepared annually. And, we are a Better Business Bureau Accredited Charity (see below)! To review the Virginia

Member
Information
The Virginia College Fund
member institutions are private, degree granting, liberal
arts and comprehensive colleges. All are non-tax supported and
not-for-profit. They do not discriminate on the basis of
race, creed, or ethnic background in either their
admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs,
educational or athletic policies, or other administered
programs. All of our member institutions are fully
accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools. Furthermore, they are all certified by the State Council of
Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) to operate in Virginia. The listings below enable you to

Chambers of Commerce, the Isle of Wight, Smithfield, Windsor Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. It is an Accredited Charity of the Better Business Bureau
serving Central Virginia.
These memberships and accreditation allow the Virginia College
Fund to demonstrate its support and charitable integrity to
the Virginia business community that has graciously supported
it for over the 44 years.
